If you wish to see a particular doctor please inform the receptionist when booking the appointment and where possible we will try to arrange this.

Please book a separate appointment for each member of the family who wishes to be seen. If you need an urgent appointment, please make this clear to the receptionist.

Appointments are for ten minutes, however, if you feel you need to discuss something at greater length please let the receptionist know and he/she will arrange a longer appointment.  The doctors and nurses all do their best to run to time, but they will sometimes run late.  Please be patient if you are asked to wait.

We offer

SAME DAY / EMERGENCY APPOINTMENTS

These can be booked from 8am and should be booked if you need to see a GP that day. Although there is a choice of doctors we cannot always guarantee the doctor requested.

URGENT APPOINTMENTS

If you need to be seen urgently please telephone or come in to the surgery straight away. You will be offered an appointment the same day, but it may not be with  the clinician of your choice.

ROUTINE APPOINTMENTS

All consultations are by appointment only. Please make an appointment by using MHOL, telephoning or calling in at the surgery. An adult should accompany children under 14.

You can request to see a particular doctor, but you may have to wait longer for your consultation than if you are happy to seen any GP.

'Pre-booked appointments'. You may book with a clinician of choice up to 4 weeks in advance.  However note that clinicians are sometimes away, which will impact the number of appointments available.

TELEPHONE CONSULTATIONs

Patients do not need to see a doctor for all illnesses or enquiries and therefore we offer telephone consultation with a clinician, or you can complete an e-consult  details are available on our home page.  You will be given an approximate time when the doctor will telephone you to discuss.

TELEPHONE AVAILABILITY/ADVICE

A time has been set aside for patients to speak to Doctors after morning surgery. Please request this service before 11am if possible. Requests for telephone advice will be triaged by the on call duty doctor.

Telephone appointments can be booked in advance. An example of when you might use this service is when you have had a blood test or an x-ray and would like to discuss the results with a GP. The appointments are normally at the end of a morning Surgery, the time you are given when booking these appointments are approximate.

The advantage of these appointments is that you can have your consultation over the telephone without leaving home.

It is important that you provide us with the best contact number in order for the GP to call you back.

Please cancel your appointment if you are unable to attend, as this appointment may be needed by someone else.

Each week we lose valuable doctor and nurse time when people fail to cancel their appointments. If you are unable to attend for your appointment or no longer require it, please let us know at the earliest opportunity.

Training Practice

As a training practice we have doctors who join us for a six month placement.  From time to time a medical student from the University of Wales Cardiff may accompany one of the doctors. Your help in allowing them to be present in a consultation would be much appreciated. You will always be asked if this is acceptable to you

HOME VISITS

A Home Visit is provided when a patient who is house bound and unable to attend the surgery, or a resident in a care/nursing home are too unwell too attend the surgery.

OUT OF HOURS

Should you need to access to a doctor outside of surgery hours, please dial NHS Wales 111.
